Yellow Mask

Numbers in COVID 19

Yellow mask is a project a project that illustrate how COVID 19 disproportionately affect Chinese in Canada. According to angusreid institute that  "Two-thirds (64%) report feeling coverage from North American news outlets has led to negative views of people of Chinese ethnicity in Canada" The yellow part on the mask are 'decorated' with phrases that I my self, and also other people has experienced during the pandemic. the white part  with data under the mask is the area that represent truth with out any prejudice.

I created this project because I wanted people to see the dark side of society, and what we have experienced during this pandemic.

The Practice of Love

The Practice of Love

This project is a redesign of the vinyl cover 'The Practice of Love' The Practice of Love is the seventh studio album by Norwegian musician Jenny Hval , released 13 September 2019 on Sacred Bones Record .The album was produced by Hval, with co-production by Lasse Marhaug and features guest vocals from Vivian Wang, formerly of the psych rock band The observatory, Australian singer-songwriter Laura Jean, and French experimental musician Félicia Atkinson (source from Wikipedia: The Practice of Love)

Salem Witch Trial

This project presents you with the infamous 'Salem Witch trial' in mixed media, It's acrylic paint on the wood surface with typography layout on translucent paper.

"The Salem witch trials occurred in colonial Massachusetts between 1692 and 1693. More than 200 people were accused of practicing witchcraft—the Devil's magic—and 20 were executed. Eventually, the colony admitted the trials were a mistake and compensated the families of those convicted. Since then, the story of the trials has become synonymous with paranoia and injustice, and it continues to beguile the popular imagination more than 300 years later." (SmithSonian magazine)

In order to show how against humanity this trial was, I  laser cut a very traditional triptych shape out of wood and tried my best to replicate the very famous 'Coronation Of The Virgin' in order to show this event in a very sarcastic way.

Contemporary Art Crisis

What is Contemporary Art?

This project is inspired by the famous 120,000$ Banana.  What has contemporary art became? and what does Contemporary art mean. Not everything can be called as Contemporary art, the definition of Contemporary art is being twisted and misunderstood, and I'd like to call that a 'Contemporary crisis.' We need to see it from the right angle and right perspective.
